FAQ: Learn More about Unitarian Universalism

What kind of religion is Unitarian Universalism?

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal, non-creedal faith. We draw wisdom from the world’s many religions and spiritual traditions, and we seek to build lives grounded in beauty, love, and justice.

How do I get involved?

The best place to start is by visiting us on a Sunday morning for worship—everyone is welcome! When you arrive, stop by the Welcome Table to sign in. You’ll receive our newsletter and learn about upcoming events and activities.
About once a quarter, we offer a class for newcomers who are interested in learning more about the church and membership.

What should I wear to worship?

Come as you are! People attend in everything from business casual to relaxed, informal attire. What matters most is that you're comfortable.

What can my children expect on Sunday?

Children and adults worship together during the summer. Activity bags are available at the Welcome Table. Religious Education for children and nursery care for 4 and under will resume in September.

Nursery care for children four and under is available from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m.

What do you mean when you say, “Everyone is welcome”?

We welcome all people who seek wholeness—regardless of race, class, income, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, or any other identity. Our building is fully accessible. Bradford UU is a Welcoming Congregation, meaning we are intentionally inclusive and supportive of LGBTQ+ people, including those who are Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans*, and Queer.

I want to know more—who do I ask?

We’d love to connect with you. Please contact us and request to speak with our minister or a member of our welcome team.
